I just returned from Savannah, Georgia, and was privileged to view a Parrish Exhibition at a small museum, the Telfair Museum of Art. It was incredible, but most impressive was the original oil on board of DAYBREAK!
I purchased a large framed print of DAYBREAK in 1964 at an estate auction in northern Ohio, and fell in love with Parrish. Since then, I have become a great admirer of his, and the accidental tour of the exhibit was the highlight of the trip! There were many originals there, and I did not want to leave the museum.

Awsome site...I've been a Maxfield Parrish fan since I first saw his work in the early 70's. I found a printing of 'Dinky Bird' for $1.00 at a yard sale about 15 years ago that I treasure. I love his whimsy. On beautiful, warm California evenings when the light is fading my husband or I will gaze into the night and comment that it looks like a Maxfield Parrish sky. There is no other way to describe the beauty. He captured it so well. We were fortunate enough to see his exhibit in Reno last weekend (6/19/05) before it moved on. What a treat! Again...thanks for the great site...Can't wait to share it!
