I'm just working and needed a break. I got goosebumps reading the letters. Often go to site when I need a break. I also share my love of Maxfield Parrish with someone very special. As a very young child I visited the Tiffany mural in the Curtis Builsing in Phila. with my father who worked there. I display many different copies in my home. Two of STARS., which is also on the background of my computer atwork. How beautiful his paintings are, what peace they inspire.

I was first intoduced to Parrish's work because the Moody Blues based an album cover on "Daybreak" and credited him in the liner notes. I bought a book on Parrish a couple of years later, and my husband bought me a magazine ad for Ferry's seeds at a secondhand store in Iowa. Reading about his method of working on many paintings at once because his technique of layering his paint to create colors instead of mixing colors separately required drying time was fascinating. He has been my favorite artist for many years now. I saw a copy of Eugene Fields' "A Child's Garden of Verses" with Parrish's illustrations in an antique store a few years ago, but could not justify spending $125 on it because it was in very poor condition. Maybe someday I will find a better copy. Thanks you for the opportunity to share my experiences with other fans.

I recently picked up an old print at a garage sale, Hilltop by Parrish and was wondering if anyone can give me some historic background on it. My wife and I injoy it, and also wonder if it is wise to reframe it because it may be an original print. Also on the bottom right corner there is a small inscription, "The House of Art NY".

Started collecting Parrish with a small, faded Daybreak in 1988.I now am the proud owner of 40 some odd pieces. Some are book cuttings, but most are "original" lithos. I have even been able to aquire some of his "Arizona" series as well as a nearly perfect large Rubyiat. What can I say, I am hooked on his work.
